DE Cross Country 5K, USATF Series, Party
Delaware Cross-Country 5K Championship
On Saturday, November 28, thirteen PCVRC members turned out to participate in the Delaware Cross-Country 5K Championship, the last event of the MA-USATF Off-Road Series. With this team score in the final event of the series, the club secured its overall second place finish to Rosemont Running Club. With the small member base of the club, our USATF members have done themselves proud to again finish "in the money" in both the Road and Off-Road Series in 2009.
In the individual medal competition, club member did well also:

Masters Female - Lorri Fencer, 1st; Anne Hessel, t3rd; Carole Feole, 5th; Theresa Kauffman, t8th; Tricia Szymanski, t11th.
Masters Male - Tom Jermyn, 4th.

2010 Mid-Atlantic USATF series
Next year, MA-USATF will be adding a third series, Cross Country, which will only occur in the Fall and will only be open to individual competition. It's not yet clear if some of the races in the Off-Road Series will serve a dual purpose, for both the Off-Road and XC series. Correction to previous E-Bulletin: When I posted the age-grades of club member for the MA-USATF Road Series, I inadvertently left Dan Simmons' score for the Valley Forge Five Miler out. He actually has about 75 more points for that race with a total of approximately 538.
Holiday Party: Don't forget that all club members are invited to the Holiday Party on Wednesday, Dec. 16, starting at 7:00 P.M. at Klondike Kate's on Main Street in Newark, DE. Good time to pay dues, pick up tee-shirts if you haven't gotten yours yet, buy club running apparel, and trade running tales.
