Radnor Run Five Miler results, MCM, Upcoming races

Club scores at Radnor Run Five Miler
Despite the plethora of races available to runners this past weekend, PCVRC managed to send a team of five (the minimum number) to the Radnor Run Five Miler, the eighth in the series of ten races in the MA-USATF Road Series. In the race, our team accumulated 371.869 points and continues to hold onto third place in the competition. However, there are three other teams behind PCVRC, all of whom could overtake our club if we fail to field a complete team.

There are two more races left in this year's series: the Ben Franklin Bridge Run 10K on next Sunday, Nov. 1 in Camden, N.J. and the Philadelphia Marathon, Half-Marathon and 8K on Nov. 22.

Weekend Races: 10/31 & 11/1
There are two other races next weekend of special interest to some club members. On Saturday, Oct. 31, there will be the Toys for Tots 5K at Delaware Veterans Post 1, off of Naaman's Rd. President Jerry Herman is a member of the Post. There is always a keg of beer on tap after this race and you don't need a ticket for refills. For more information, go to: http://www.runtheday.com/findarace.shtml.

On Sunday morning, there will be the first annual Waffle Cone Ten Miler, starting at Caffe Gelato on Main St. in Newark. Owner Ryan German is a new member of PCVRC. Amenities include a dri-Release performance t-shirt, a waffle cone at the end of the race and post-race refreshments, prepared by Caffe Gelato. The course itself is a hybrid, consisting of some road on N.College Ave./Creek Road, some gravel road and some trail. Volunteers needed
From Chip and Doris Bixler:
Volunteers are needed for the First Annual Waffle Cone Ten Miler on Sunday, Nov. 1 at Caffe Gelato. Ryan German is a new PCVRC member and is undertaking a big challenge of putting on a ten mile run down Creek Road to White Clay Creek State Park.

If you're not running and can volunteer, please contact Chip and Doris Bixler at cdbixler@comcast.net or 410-398-7482. Hope to see lots of PCVRC members either running or volunteering.
