Rachel started running with the PCVRC in the spring of 2008 after moving to the Pike Creek area from NC.
As a way to meet new people and keep in shape she decided to become a member of the PCVRC.
After running with the group on Wednesday nights she met another runner who was training for the Alaska Marathon with Team
in Training. After finding out more information about the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society she decided to sign up for the
Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco, CA. Five months later and a lot of miles she finished her first marathon in
October of 2008 in 4 hours and 41 minutes.
She enjoys all the different people that she has met over the past year and a half and is very excited for her next
marathon in Rehoboth Beach, DE in November and doing her first international marathon in Rome in 2010.
She is grateful all the support and friendships that she has gained and hopes that all new members have the same
experience that she has.
